Mayor Alvin Brown announced today that the NBA’s Orlando Magic and New Orleans Pelicans will kick off their 2013-14 season with a preseason game on Oct. 9.

Mayor Alvin Brown announced the creation of the Summer Basketball League for youth ages 10 to 18 years old.
Youth can sign up now for Mayor Brown's Summer Basektball League. League play begins July 8. Championships games will be held at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on Aug. 8.

We are now accepting applications for food vendors for the 4th of July Celebration. The deadline to submit an application is June 19 at 5 p.m.
