The Captains Club and the Jacksonville Sail and Power Squadron present the annual Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday, April 9 at Lone Sailor Statue on the new Southbank Riverwalk.

Boaters, pull up your anchors!
All captains and crews are invited to have their vessel blessed for the upcoming navigational season. Arrive at the Metropolitan Park Marina at 1:30 p.m. and tune to VHF channels 16 and 72 for parade instructions.
If you don't have your sea legs, bring the family to the Southbank Riverwalk at 2 p.m. to watch some of Jacksonville's finest vessels as they participate in this visually-stunning ceremony.

What is Blessing of the Fleet?
Blessing of the Fleet is a tradition that was started many centuries ago in Mediterranean fishing communities where the vessel, captains, and crews are blessed to ensure a safe and prosperous season. The tradition is now held in coastal fishing communities throughout much of the world. including in a number of coastal cities in the United States.
