Along with the 2012 Jacksonville Jazz Festival, there will be other major events in the heart of downtown during Memorial Day weekend.

Presented by the City of Jacksonville and Keyboard Connection Pianos & Organs, the Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition has been a tradition for more than 20 years. Five finalists, chosen by a selection committee through "blind" judging, will compete for the honor of this award, a cash prize and the chance to perform during the 2012 Jacksonville Jazz Festival. 

Friday night marks the beginning of FREE jazz performances on multiple stages in the heart of downtown including Bela Fleck and the Marcus Roberts Trio; and Sonny Rollins on Memorial Day Weekend! The Wine Down/Brew Town Tasting Experience and the Art in the Heart Downtown juried art show and sale will also be open along with jazz exhibits and displays to start the festival weekend.

The 2012 Jacksonville Jazz Festival continues into the weekend with more incredible FREE performances including Patti Austin with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue on Saturday, May 26. The Wine Down/Brew Town Tasting Experience and the Art in the Heart Downtown juried art show and sale continue along with jazz displays and the ‘Round Midnight Jazz Jams that will keep the sounds of jazz going into the early morning hours!

The final day of the 2012 Jacksonville Jazz Festival continues with incredible FREE jazz performances including Poncho Sanchez and his Latin Jazz Band featuring Terence Blanchard; the Corea, Clarke and White; and more on multiple stages. Sacred Jazz performances in the Old Church and a Sunday Jazz Brunch are just some of the fun activities planned for the final day of the festival. The Wine Down/Brew Town Tasting Experience and the Art in the Heart Downtown juried art show and sale continue along with other highlights including exhibits and displays.

Enjoy the sounds of the Bill Hart Trio and a delicious brunch on Sunday, May 27 at the Omni Jacksonville Hotel. This is the perfect way to kick off the final day of the festival.
