The deadline to submit a performer application is Friday, November 14.

We will be accepting applications for poster artists and craft vendors in November. Keep checking back for updates.

 Shuttle Information

JTA will be providing complimentary shuttle service during this year’s Jazz Festival. 

Most of the parking will be in the Everbank Field area. A bus is scheduled to pass each stop about every 10 minutes. Due to road closures, the bus will travel through downtown.

2014 Jacksonville Jazz Festival Commemorative Poster

Titled: The Brilliance of Jazz
by Mike O'Connell
Michael O'Connell is an artist living in Clearwater, Florida originally from Johnson City, NY. Having graduated from the Tampa Tech School Of Art and Design, Michael has over 25 years of experience in the design field and currently works for Sharpline Converting, the country's leader of vinyl graphics.
 
He started his professional career as an airbrush artist for Tampa's Busch Gardens. His designs and logos can be seen through out Florida and the Tampa Bay area. Also a self-taught contemporary painter, his mixed works combine bold use of colors and imagery to make his paintings both versatile and memorable at the same time.
 
His works have been featured by the Tampa Bay Lightning's Celebration Of The Arts, Perdido Key Wine Festival, Blissfest Music Festival and the National CIAA Basketball Tournament to name a few.

Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition

The Florida Theatre

The Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition, presented by the City of Jacksonville and Keyboard Connection Pianos & Organs, has been a tradition for more than 30 years. Five finalists, chosen by a selection committee through "blind" judging, will compete for the honor of this award, a cash prize and the chance to perform on the Main Stage during the Jacksonville Jazz Festival.

Jacksonville Jazz Festival Hall of Fame


2014 Hall of Fame Inductee: Ace Martin

Ace Martin is currently Instrumental Music Chairman at Douglas Anderson   School  of the Arts in Jacksonville, FL, and has been since the opening of school  of in 1984. Under the direction of Martin, Douglas Anderson's Jazz Band I has been invited to play for various local, state, national and international Jazz Festival events.  
Many of his students have continued a career in music with an emphasis on Jazz. Students have continued their education at high-ranking jazz music programs like Julliard, Berklee, Eastman, Manhattan, UNF and University of North Texas. Students that have graduated from his program are now touring with artists such as Kurt Elling, Christian McBride Trio, Count Basie Orchestra, and John Mayer.
Congratulations Ace and thank you for the impact you have had on jazz in Jacksonville.

Jazz After Dark

Back this year, the City of Jacksonville is bringing you “Jazz after Dark”. Following the last act of the festival lineup each night, enjoy even more live Jazz from 10 p.m. till 2 a.m. Participating bars and clubs are located within a couple of blocks from the Jazz Fest stages and admission is free!

Back this year, the City of Jacksonville will bring to you the second annual "Off Jazz" Concert. This year the Off Jazz Concert will be held on Sunday, May 25 and will feature R&B singers Musiq Soulchild and Sebastian Mikael. Tickets will be available at The Florida Theatre Box Office or at www. ticketmaster.com. The Florida Theatre Box Office is open daily from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.

The legacy of the Jacksonville Jazz Festival’s official "‘Round Midnight Jam Session" tradition continues! The jam is hosted annually by the “Kelly/Scott Quintet,” featuring world class jazz artists,five time DownBeat Magazine award winning vocalist and 2013 Jacksonville Jazz Festival "Hall of Fame" inductee Lisa Kelly, Yamaha trumpet artist and UNF trumpet professor JB Scott, award winning pianist Joshua Bowlus, Arturo Sandoval bassist Dennis Marks & former Navy Commodores drummer Clyde Connor, providing top-notch musical support for the variety of musicians who turn out each year to play. From young, up-and-coming musicians and seasoned pros in the community to festival featured acts and “heavyweights,” you never know who’s going to turn out to share in the improv! This event continues to be one of the festival favorites and will be a feature this year at the Jacksonville Landing’s “Breezin’ Stage.” So bring your horns, guitar, voices and talent to join in, piano, drums, bass/amp & guitar amp provided! Fans, bring a chair to witness the musical jammin’ magic!

Youth Jazz Talent Showcase

Groovin' Stage

Jacksonville Jazz Festival is a pleased to bring the Youth Jazz Talent Showcase, a live talent competition open to young jazz singers and musicians. The winner will receive a cash prize to be used expressly for the purpose of furthering his or her musical education. Finalists will perform at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival on Saturday, May 24. Winners will be selected by a panel of music adjudicators who specialize in the arts forms of traditional and contemporary jazz and blues. Trophies will be awarded to 1st-3rd place winners. Applicants must be between the ages of 7 and 21.

The deadline to apply is April 1, 2014.
