* NOTE: The 501(c)3 rate of $100.00 applies only to events that have no admission fee. If the event is a ticketed (fee) event, then the rates for 'Ticketed' events apply.

Concession Buyout Fee

If food or beverages are being sold at the event, a concession buyout fee will be charged based on the following:

Non-alcohol event: 0.50 per person attending the event.
Alcohol event: 0.75 per person attending the event.

The attendance will be counted by turnstiles located at the entrance of the event.

Labor Requirements

Park Staff
City of Jacksonville employees will provide labor, to include electricians, maintenance crew and park staff at the prevailing pay rate of the positions required to work the event. The number of staff will be based on the scope of the event and projected attendance.

Public Safety
Jacksonville Sheriff's Officers and Jacksonville Fire Rescue medics will be present at all events. The number will be determined by that department based on the scope of the event and the projected attendance. Contact the Metropolitan Park Event Coordinator for current rates.

Gate/T-Shirt Security
Those events requiring gate access restrictions must hire a Class 'D' licensed security agency. The agency selected must provide a copy of their license along with liability insurance.

Insurance Requirements

All events held at Metropolitan Park must be covered by $1 million of general liability insurance naming the City of Jacksonville as an additional insured. If alcohol is being served or sold, the appropriate liquor liability insurance in the amount of $1 million is also required.

Deposit Requirements

The rental fee, along with a damage deposit and the concession buyout fee is required to secure the requested date. The deposit, along with the signed lease agreement, is required prior to any advertising or promoting of the event.

Alcohol Sales/Service Restrictions

Only non-profit organizations can serve/sell alcohol in City-owned parks. Proof of non-profit status along with the liquor license and insurance will be required.


The parking lots surrounding Metropolitan Park are managed by an outside event management company. They will determine if a parking charge to event attendees will occur. Metropolitan Park has limited free parking available to the event staff.

Portable Sanitation
Metropolitan Park has restroom facilities to accommodate up to 4,000 people. An event projecting more than 4,000 attendees must provide portable sanitation units according to health department guidelines.
